Right now you only have 6 (with fusions you'll have 12). With everything at your disposal, eventually you have 18 traits in a single party to create some very interesting interactions. The most crucial part of a team comes down to their traits and how they interact with one another. When you unlock fusion, you should fuse every creature in your party to give them an extra trait. Artifacts from the blacksmith can be socketed for more stats, spells, and additional traits. I don't know what all you're limited to currently, but spell gems can eventually be upgraded and set to autocast when attacking/defending/etc, they can be socketed to cast twice as well. Look for ways to close out combat as quickly as possible (deal massive damage to the whole enemy team), set up some kind of chain reaction/loop through abilities. Off the top of my head I only know the trait for Unicorn Vivifier, but my advice would be: don't plan on your creatures dying at all unless that's a major part of your strategy. The in game codex has all the info you need, but I find it a bit easier to use the site below when searching for traits, creatures, spells, etc. There will still be some hidden ones, but it's nice to control some of them especially if your build relies on certain stats or strategies When you feel comfortable running higher and higher instabilities keep in mind you can change some of the realm variables before you enter the realm by pressing c. You may be surprised and find you like one a lot more than what you alhave been running. Try out a lot of the other specializations too. When you unlock gate of the gods and later guilds you can tweak your build even more. Once you find you are surviving pretty much everything you can start looking at increasing your speed to make fight shorter. If you get wiped or lose some creatures check out the battle history to see what killed them and tweak your build accordingly.
